The revelation threatened to shatter the uneasy peace between the Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders camps and supporters days before the Democratic convention kicks off next week.
Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz will not have a major speaking role or preside over daily convention proceedings this week, a decision reached by party officials Saturday after emails surfaced raising questions about the committee’s impartiality during the Democratic primary.
Tim Kaine and his wife, Anne Holton, were back at their longtime church in Richmond, Virginia, on Sunday, a day after the Virginia senator made his campaign debut with presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton as her running mate.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Congressman Joe Kennedy and Boston Mayor Marty Walsh are among those expected to address the convention.

It looks like there is growing controversy heading into the National Democratic Convention after a series of emails were released by WikiLeaks indicating that the party’s leaders were undermining Bernie Sanders.
The Clinton team worked to portray their party’s convention in a different light from the just concluded Republican gathering in Cleveland, where Donald Trump accepted the GOP nomination but party divisions flared when his chief rival, Texas Sen.
President Barack Obama says Donald Trump’s suggestion that the USA might not come to the defense of North Atlantic Treaty Organisation allies is another sign of what he calls Trump’s “lack of preparedness” on foreign policy.
Her stewardship of the DNC has been under fire through most of the presidential primary process, but her removal from the convention stage comes following the release of almost 20,000 emails.
North Atlantic Treaty Organisation members promise that an attack against any of them is considered an assault against all. Clinton has 2,814 when including superdelegates, according to an Associated Press count.
