Ann Trachtenberg joked that she wanted to be greeted by a marching band after her last chemotherapy appointment and her wish eventually came true. So Trachtenbeg’s niece decided to surprise her and contacted the University of Wisconsin Badger Marching Band, the Journal Sentinel reports. Good idea.

The Carbone Cancer Center posted the video on its Facebook page, where it had been viewed more than 292,000 times as of Tuesday night. By Wednesday afternoon, it had been shared more than 10,000 times. The UW Carbone Cancer Center posted video of the celebration to its Facebook page, where thousands of people have congratulated Trachtenberg on reaching her milestone and thanked the band for its community spirit. The UW Marching Band band, called the Badger Band, had about two months to assemble members, and Monday’s special performance went off without a hitch.

“It’s something that we do, I wouldn’t say as a matter of course, but certainly often, and quite enthusiastically”, he said.

‘Congratulations, ‘ said a Badger member playing the cymbols, who then hugged Trachtenberg. Trachtenberg’s niece heard the comment, and without telling her aunt, started making inquiries.

Jones described Trachtenberg as loving, strong and friendly.

And Kelly Jones, the woman’s primary nurse, told ABC News that it is “kind of neat” that the video has gone viral.
