As part of its upfront presentation, CBS has revealed a teaser offering the first look at its upcoming Star Trek television series. The new series – the first for Star Trek in over a decade – will premiere on CBS in January before transitioning exclusively to CBS All Access.
“CBS presents a new adventure”. And if you’re trying to figure out whether you’re enough of a Trek fan to justify signing up for the new service, keep in mind a CBS All Access subscription now goes for around $5.99/month. Alex Kurtzman and Nicholas Meyer are also on board as producers. As previously reported, Bryan Fuller, who launched his career writing for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager, will return to the television franchise as co-creator and executive producer.
In the USA, a special premiere episode will air on the CBS Television Network and all subsequent first-run episodes will be available exclusively on CBS All Access. The show is not expected to cross over with the ongoing Star Trek film series.
