Seriously, at 14 years of age, we were barely able to do long division and this brother is solving Rubik’s Cubes in an insane amount of time. The chart above shows the progression of the official world record, according to the World Cube Association.
Etter’s accomplishment was the first official solve to come in under 5 seconds.
Lucas already holds the world record for the 2-by-2 cube after solving it in under two seconds previous year.
The teen specialises in the 2×2, the standard 3×3 (which he set the new record for) and the 4×4.

The Rubik’s cube was invented in 1974 by Erno Rubik, a Hungarian architect, who wanted a working model to help explain three-dimensional geometry. Originally called the Magic Cube, the puzzle was licensed by Rubik to be sold by Ideal Toy Corp.
