Watch Benedict Cumberbatch in a spectacular new trailer for Marvel’s ‘Doctor Strange’

The last day of the hugely popular festival is considered somewhat low-key compared to the first three days, which featured an announcement that Oscar victor Brie Larson will play Captain Marvel in an upcoming movie. “We actually have a lot today”.

CIVIL WAR took part today in “Worlds, Galaxies, and Universes: Live Action at The Walt Disney Studios” presentation at Disney’s D23 EXPO 2015 in Anaheim, Calif. And as for the Captain Marvel logo? “It’s really serving the same function that the comic did”. Our first look at the film left plenty to be excited about, such as Mads Mikkelson’s portrayal of a mysterious, heavily made-up villain.

It’s a poignant comment to make at Comic-Con but an important one overall to put out there for both Hollywood and fans who either don’t get the issue or still aren’t listening and understanding how important representation is in media. Mikkelsen himself was even more circumspect [and don’t even bother asking him about Star Wars]. With a large, already-announced cast including Tilda Swinton as the androgynous Ancient One, it’s quite hard to tell where Bratt fits in.

“It’s very, very different and the scale is something else”, Cumberbatch said. Chiwetel Ejiofor is also introduced as Baron Mordo, but doesn’t appear to the supervillain key in the comic books.

As well as being in the director’s chair, Derrickson has teamed up with C. Robert Cargill to pen the film’s screenplay, which is based on the comic book by Steve Ditko.

Could this be Kevin Feige’s way to use the same characters in the Marvel movies that are now on TV?

Chadwick Boseman will play the title role in the film, while Michael will portray Black Panther’s nemesis Erik Killmonger.

Animators recreated the Comic-Con panel setup in a short sketch that included a Lego version of panel moderator Conan O’Brien asking Lego Batman, Lego Joker and Lego Robin about the new film, in which Batman tackles fatherhood. But if that theme had to be replaced, then Giacchino was the right guy to do it. “I’m excited more than anything else”. “How do you depict being a high school student in a world where there are Avengers?“.

Maybe most of those developmental scenes are flashbacks. Have they got water?’ And they said, ‘Yeah some of them have, some of them haven’t?’ ‘Are they going to be on the street tonight?

“I’m looking forward to kicking some ass”, Nyong’o said.
