Watch Donald Trump Speak at the RNC Live Tonight 31

The Texas senator refused to endorse Trump during his Wednesday speech, even as delegates loudly jeered him from the convention floor. But he also made clear it was intensely personal after a brutal primary campaign where Trump dismissed him as “Lyin’ Ted”, mocked Cruz’s wife’s looks and linked Cruz’s father to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort avoided saying the campaign approved the Cruz speech, telling the The Washington Post Thursday morning that the Cruz Camp gave the speech to the Trump camp at 6:30 PM est. and that Sen. “And I’ll tell you this morning and going forward I don’t intend to say negative things about Donald Trump”.

Donald Trump will pledge to Americans Thursday night that “safety will be restored” and the middle class will experience “profound relief” if he becomes president, using his acceptance speech at the Republican convention to paint an optimistic vision of the nation’s future.

Republican candidates had pledged during the primary process to support the party’s eventual nominee.

“Sean Spicer, the Republican National Committee spokesman, said he would probably call Cruz an “***hole” as well. “It got me here”, said Trump, who has fired up crowds with promises to create jobs, be tough on national security and ensure that foreign policy keeps American interests firmly at its heart.

CLEVELAND-Roger Stone, longtime conservative ratfucker and Donald Trump confidant, wants to destroy Ted Cruz. They’re not here because they’re planning to vote Republican in November.

Speaking to an incensed Texas delegation, Cruz recalled an answer he gave at a Republican debate this year, when he enthusiastically said he would support the party’s official nominee. After Trump secured the nomination, he vowed to campaign for the developer, arguing that all Republicans should work to deny Hillary Clinton the White House.

A large number of delegates tried to shout down the senator – and there were more boos than applause as he left the stage. Indeed, in some ways the delegates at this convention seem to have gone beyond even Mr Trump on politically extreme rhetoric.

The Texan argued that the “politically easy option” would be to back the nominee no matter who it might be, but insisted: “This is not a game, it is not politics”.

Given that Donald Trump is a political candidate like no other, it should be no surprise that the Republican National Convention has been somewhat unconventional. “I don’t think “vote your conscience” means ‘vote for Hillary'”.

Trump walked to the convention hall stage Thursday afternoon (Friday NZT), surveying the setup with his daughter, Ivanka, who will introduce him.

The RNC and the Trump Campaign expressed shock and outrage – they feigned indignation. “Either he knew what he was doing and he has a bigger plan… or he may have miscalculated how many people in that room supported Trump”.
