Watch the full clip of Drake and KD during the Summer Sixteen Tour below. But he hasn’t been above inviting the NBA’s cream of the crop onstage, having done so in NY with Derrick Rose and in Columbus with the Cleveland Cavaliers’ LeBron James. Of course, folks were wondering whether or not Drake would have any surprises up his sleeve regarding the Warriors, and he gave the folks a big one in the form of new star Kevin Durant.
It was a pretty cool moment, as Durant is still just settling into his new surroundings as a Golden State Warrior.
Drake doesn’t hide his admiration for the NBA’s most notable stars.
“I told you, y’all was getting some big rings this year”, Drake said, suggesting he’s on board with the many observers who see the revamped Warriors as the favorites to win their second National Basketball Association title in three years (and suggesting that maybe the Toronto Raptors’ global ambassador isn’t as confident in his squad’s odds as the brand’s bosses might like).
All they have to do to get completely riled up is take a look at that picture above of Drake sporting the Durant-Warriors jersey.

An unofficial member of the Toronto Raptors as the team’s “global ambassador”, it’s interesting that Drake himself would spark up a relationship with a superstar on another team. This reference didn’t escape Durant, who’s also been mentioned in rap songs by the likes of Jay-Z and J. Cole.
