Johnny’s sister and her husband, Sandy Statham, were married in Northern Ireland and Ed chose to join the singer when he treated guests to a 30 minute set, which also included a rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition“.
McDaid, who collaborated with Sheeran on his smash hit song Photograph, was joined on stage by the balladeer and other members of Snow Patrol.
THERE are not many couples who can say that both Ed Sheeran and Snow Patrol performed at their wedding. Watch footage from the performance below.
The musicians also serenaded the guests with Sheeran’s Tenerife Sea, and Stevie Wonder’s Superstition.
Derry bride Brid McDaid and Edinburgh native Sandy Statham were married at the Beech Hill Country House Hotel in Derry on Sunday.
“The wedding guests really were so excited by the performance, everyone was in such good form and it really just lifted the mood of the whole day”, she said.
They were clocked flying out of London’s Heathrow Airport together on Saturday, along with Courteney’s daughter Coco, before being spotted looking cosy Ireland over the bank holiday weekend.
“They seemed very at ease with one another”, she said.
‘Someone came over to speak to them and I heard her congratulate them and they were smiling and laughing. “They are a lovely couple”.
