Watch Hillary Clinton Speak at American Legion Convention
“I will never, ever disrespect gold star families who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation or prisoners of war”, she promised.

Hillary Clinton is expected to deliver a speech slamming Donald Trump at the American Legion’s national convention in Cincinnati. At a fundraiser on Monday she told supporters she was “running against someone who will say or do anything”. “Actually it’s just like building personal relationships”.
Clinton hit Trump sharply on his past statements questioning the idea of American exceptionalism – he’s said “I don’t like the term” – and his suggestion that he may not honor America’s agreements with its allies if the United States is not getting enough out of the deal.
Clinton will speak on Wednesday, while Trump will speak on Thursday.
Clinton also appeared to reference Trump’s years of trash-talking Mexico and its government, which he has accused of intentionally sending criminals over the US border. “And it certainly takes more than trying to make up for a year of insults and insinuations by dropping in on our neighbors for a few hours, and then flying home again”.
Clinton, speaking as Trump traveled to Mexico City for his meeting with President Enrique Peña Nieto, did not use the Republican nominee’s name when calling him out for the surprise trip but was very clearly referring to him throughout the line of attack. “That is not how it works”, she said. James Clad, former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense under President George W. Bush, will announce his support for Clinton, following a slew of GOP endorsements.
Clinton, who will face Trump in the November 8 US election, has racked up endorsements from a number of prominent Republicans, including Brent Scowcroft, a national security adviser to two Republican presidents and Richard Armitage, a deputy secretary of state under George W. Bush. “And who knows what that might be”.
“In fact, when Vladimir Putin of all people criticized American exceptionalism, my opponent agreed with him, saying, ‘If you’re in Russian Federation, you don’t want to hear that America is exceptional.’ ” Clinton continued.
Clinton said the country has a “unique and unparalleled ability to be a force for peace and progress”.
The Trump campaign has sought to highlight Clinton’s absence from the campaign trail, raising questions about her physical health, using the hashtag “HidingHillary”, and drawing attention to the fact it has been almost 10 months since she last held an impromptu press conference.
The Trump campaign responded to Clinton’s speech with a lengthy statement from Matt Miller, director of Veterans for Trump.

Though many national and state polls show Clinton with an edge, she has been stressing that the campaign must not take anything for granted.
