Strictly Come Dancing has come under significant fire twice this series, with ex-contestant Jamelia claiming the show was fixed after reportedly saying Peter Andre’s standing ovation was “faked by producers”.

A couple of very minor stumbles during the 25-year-old’s quick step (to the tune of The Who’s My Generation) with dance partner Aliona Vilani left a few of the judges disappointed.

“You’ve brought out the best in me and I really am forever grateful”, she told her partner who was making his first ever appearance in a final after 12 years on the show.

All the couples performed three dances in this year’s final – one routine from a previous show that the dancers had chosen to perform again, one judges’ choice and a showdance.

Aliona Vilani has the look of shock and happiness on her face as she and Jay McGuiness learn they’ve won Strictly Come Dancing 2015. “‘You have been extraordinary”, he said. “I wanted it more exciting for me”.

Admitting he felt “spaced out” to presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, Jay went on to say: “It’s been one of the most special things that I’ve ever done and with the most special person”.

And she was enchanting – and blindfolded – for her Showdance to Fix You by Coldplay which was described by judge Bruno Tonioli as “Fifty Shades of Green”.

She said: “In our showdance, we have to do something where I jump up in the air and spin around once and land”.

She may have missed out on the coveted Glitterball trophy in the Strictly Come Dancing final.

“You’re Number One in my book”, said Darcey.

Foote was partnered with Giovanni Pernice, while Bright was teamed up with Kevin Clifton. “I’ve learned to dance and I’m chuffed to bits”.

Speaking to Aliona, Jay said: “You deserve it so much, you really do”. “I love you two”.
