The Telegraph reports that “Perfect Illusion” co-producer Mark Ronson warmed up the stage before Gaga sang a live rendition of the single in silver hotpants. “I started to work on an idea for a song that I really wanted to do with a girl”. How do we look through these images that we know are filtered and altered, and decipher what is reality and what is a ideal illusion? As for the release of the song’s video, it appears Gaga has yet to officially announce when the video will drop.
Over the last several years, the singer of such disco-inspired dance-pop hits as “Paparazzi”, “Poker Face” and “Born This Way” has taken a break from commercial music. Her point brings up an intriguing thought-it will be interesting to see how Welch’s unique vocals will blend with Gaga’s own big voice. She’s never had songs that could have easily just been recorded by another artist, or ones that sound like they were written by whoever the hottest songwriter was at the moment. The singer shared that she actually typed the lyrics up on a typewriter. “We stripped everything away”.
She later added that thanks in part to her role in AHS, she’s found true happiness. The melody was changed a couple of times until they had the final version of the song which they all liked.
