Watch Melo Trimble’s deep game-winning 3 at Wisconsin
In a 60-60 game between the Maryland Terrapins and the Wisconsin Badgers, Trimble hit quite the shot to win the game. He approached the three-point arc with seven seconds remaining, and with five left, he took a three-pointer from well outside the arc and buried the Badgers.

Trimble took the reins for the No. 3 Terrapins, weaving his way in and out of the Badgers defense, scoring 21 points and adding 5 assists – a misleading number based on the number of assist opportunities his play presented. Stone, a Milwaukee native, helped his Whitefish Bay Dominican High School team win four straight championships at the venue, at the state’s Division 4 level…. After Rasheed Sulaimon missed a free throw, Koenig hit his game-tying triple with 23 second to go.
After trailing by just four at halftime, despite the fact that Maryland shot 59.3 percent from the field in the first half, Wisconsin took a 47-46 lead with 10:04 left following a 3-pointer from junior guard Bronson Koenig.
Robert Carter put up a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
The sophomore let the shot clock wind down with Zak Showalter guarding him for the Badgers (9-8, 1-3). He extended his personal run to 10-1 with another three-pointer to give Maryland a 56-48 lead with 6:40 remaining. Stone, who garnered Wisconsin co-Mr.
Hayes scored 17 points for the Badgers.

Instead of calling timeout and drawing up an intricate play with the score tied entering the game’s final possession, Maryland coach Mark Turgeon opted to keep things simple. With Showalter shadowing him closely, Trimble pulled up from 25 feet to knock down the game-winning dagger with 1.2 seconds left.
