Watch New Trailer for Forthcoming La La Land Movie Musical
Written and directed by Chazelle, should the dreamy feature nab a nomination or two, it wouldn’t be the first of the director’s features to do so, after the filmmaker struck a chord with the Academy two years ago with the really rather excellent Whiplash.

All of which is to say: I am already in the bag for La La Land, and today’s new trailer only reinforces that notion. The Los Angeles-set love story is a fully-fledged musical that revolves around the burgeoning love between a musician (Ryan Gosling) and a struggling actress (Emma Stone).
” La La Land is a surprising tribute to the golden age of American [movie] musicals, from An American in Paris by Vincente Minnelli to New York, New York by Martin Scorsese”, stated Festival director Alberto Barbera.
Indeed, La La Land heralds a new collaboration between the filmmaker and accomplished composer Justin Hurwitz, who penned numerous original songs found in Whiplash.
La La Land will have its world-premiere screening August 31 in the Sala Grande at the Palazzo del Cinema on the Lido di Venezia.
The newly released trailer for Damien Chazelle’s film offers more surreal, stylized scenes of Los Angeles and romance between Stone’s frustrated actress and Gosling’s lovelorn jazz musician.
