The former Oasis frontman was spotted taking the London Underground to the O2 Arena in Greenwich, London, on both October 25 and 26 – before joining the Irish rockers on stage on Monday evening.

There was also plenty of fan interaction at the show with Bono inviting two brothers on stage to accompany the band on acoustic guitars for Angel of Harlem and bringing a female fan on stage for “Mysterious Ways”.

“Of all the people I know, he’s the most fun to hang out with, for sure. He’s always giving me titles for songs and albums”.

“God bless that band because they do take that side of it very seriously”. I was stood in the wings and they were introducing me and I was thinking “This is actually going to happen now, this is amazing”. Get me up there, plug me in.

The often-critical Gallagher had nothing but positive things to say about U2’s Innocence + Experience tour earlier this year. The band’s show in Paris on November 14 will be filmed and shown on HBO that day.
