Watch obscure up-and-comer Kanye West audition for ‘American Idol’
In October, Kanye West staged a surprise American Idol audition when the singing competition tried out hopefuls in San Francisco.

Back in November, you might have caught a glimpse of one such budding star from the South Side of Chicago, named Kanye West, in a leaked clip from the 15th and final season of the still popular show.
FOX TV Kanye West surprised the judges with an audition for “American Idol”. Congrats, Jen. Thankfully, the judges liked his little performance enough to give him the nod. “Just, you know, I hope they really believe in him”.
“I’m not nervous, because I do really believe in him”, she said. Whether he’s waxing poetic about what it means to be a genius, pondering his own similarities to Jesus, or just regular old Kanye West-ing, the rapper is a constant source of inspiration and entertainment.
The cheeky chappie even went as far as to name check judge Jennifer Lopez as he thrilled the panel with a version of Gold Digger.
“We have been in San Francisco, and they stated, ‘We’ve acquired a contestant that is simply going to leap into the line, ‘” “American Idol” host Ryan Seacrest advised “W!”
‘Cause he’s got a golden ticket…
