Watch Pharrell, James Corden, Apple’s Tim Cook Do ‘Carpool Karaoke’

The most valuable company in the world kicked off its biggest event of the year with a celebrity singalong.

First, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook followed in the footsteps of Justin Bieber, Elton John, Mariah Carey and Michelle Obama and scored himself a spot on Carpool Karaoke. After Pharrell joined in, they jammed to “Sweet Home Alabama” as a tribute to where Cook grew up.

The series’ 16 episodes will be made available exclusively to Apple Music subscribers in a move that further expands the original content of the company’s streaming music service.

However, if you didn’t catch Apple’s entire presentation LIVE, then chances are you missed their iconic opening… which was none other than a Carpool Karaoke segment! The pair also talked to Siri – who said that scheduling Cook’s appointments is “crazy” – and sang along to One Republic.

As Cook reminded the audience when he took the stage, the bit wasn’t as random as it seemed: Variety reported that Apple Music ordered a full Carpool Karoake stand-alone series in July.
