In the wake of Prince’s unexpected death this April, his backing band the Revolution announced that they would reunite for a series of shows in his honor.

The show last night featured a full extended family of Prince’s earliest collaborators, as Dez Dickerson and Andre Cymone – two members of Prince’s pre-Revolution band – guested throughout the night.

The band ran through their hits with Prince, including “Raspberry Beret”, “Let’s Go Crazy”, and “Computer Blue”.

As one fan noted, several of Prince’s ex’s were on hand along with Apollonia, including former wives Mayte and Manuela Testolini and one-time girlfriend Susannah Melvoin (Wendy’s twin sister). They were joined on stage by Bilal for a rendition of the “The Beautiful Ones”, which he performed back in June during Prince’s tribute performance at the BET Awards.

“Later I learned they were flying me to Minneapolis to meet Prince, who takes me out for a ride in a purple limo”. “Only a few hundred people have had the rare opportunity to tour the estate during his lifetime”.

During the panel, she candidly recalled meeting Prince for the first time, prior to the filming of the 1984 film.
