With ‘The Wiz Live!’ being the best-reviewed live musical that NBC has ever aired, producers are now talking about bringing the show to Broadway next year. But the buzz wasn’t all good; the show also sparked a racial controversy online.

OK, it’s officially not too early to call “The Wiz Live!” a mega-hit for NBC.
According to Variety, The Wiz Live! averaged roughly a 3.3 rating/11 share in adults 18-49 and about 11.1 million viewers overall from 8 to 11 p.m. Check out the best memes from The Wiz Live!

The production more than doubled NBC’s typical audience for a Thursday night despite CBS airing a down-to-the-wire National Football League game as competition. But will the TV cast be included in the new production?
