[Watch] Teaser trailer for JK Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find
Upon a visit to New York City in 1926, Newt accidentally lets some of these rare and endangered magical creatures escape for all No-Majs (aka American muggles) to see, which is very, very bad, especially because the No-Maj are already trying to persecute wizards and witches. Of course, adventure ensues when Newt encounters a No-Maj-American Muggle-named Jacob and some of Newt’s fantastic beasts go missing from his misplaced magical case.

Harry who? There’s a new wizard in town and his name is Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), the frayed and frazzled star of the first Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them trailer. We’ll also be releasing a new episode of MuggleCast to discuss the trailer soon.
Harry Potter fans will recognize Newt Scamander as the author of his Hogwarts textbook Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
The official trailer is expected to give a good look at the main character and the period-piece setting of the film while also establishing that this is set in the same universe as the “Harry Potter” films despite not being a direct prequel.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the first of at least three films, arrives in United Kingdom cinemas on 18 November 2016.
But when it was announced in 2013 that Rowling was working on the screenplay for the first in a series of films based on spin-off book Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, fans were predictably excited. Did anyone else experience a thrill of excitement when those familiar notes of the Harry Potter score played?
