Watch The Comic-Con 2016 Star Trek 50th Anniversary Panel
Described as the “test flight” of the U.S.S. Discovery, the new teaser shows the starship leaving some kind of asteroid base, which also shares some distinct similarities with vintage Ralph McQuarrie art. McQuarrie’s asteroid design was later used in an episode of Star Trek: Enterprise, for a location called the Tholian asteroid dock.

The creative team unveiled the show’s official title and logo, Star Trek: Discovery, a video of the brand new ship, and how its storylines will be majorly different from its parent show.
That means what we saw in the Star Trek Discovery trailer isn’t the final ship, though it probably is a very good representation of what the final ship will look like.
The first episode of Star Trek: Discovery will premiere with a broadcast TV special on CBS. What the new series needs to do is continue to be progressive, push boundaries and tell stories that give us hope for a future. One of the most lovely things of Star Trek is that you have people who see this show and they want to be scientists, they want to make it into space.
The new series will fix not on the Enterprise but on the “USS Discovery”.
In a packed panel during San Diego Comic-Con, the name of the new Star Trek series – which, in the grand tradition of Star Trek, is also the name of the ship – was revealed.
“Star Trek” is expected to debut in January 2017 on CBS All Access, the streaming service of CBS network online.
What do you think about Fuller’s plans for the new series?
Even those involved in the show over the past five decades struggled to pinpoint how Star Trek ended up having such an impact.
Star Trek Beyond is now showing in Indonesia.
Fuller confirmed one thing that we already knew per earlier interviews; the first season will consist of 13 episodes and will tell one story that stretches across the whole thing.

“‘Star Trek’ is about family and finding your family”, Fuller said. Kurtzman and Heather Kadin will serve as executive producers.
