Watch the hilarious new Gilmore Girls trailer

In addition to the Gilmore Girls news, Netflix announced Wednesday that its original shows Chelsea, Lady Dynamite and Real Rob have been renewed for second seasons in 2017. Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life is created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, who executive produces, writes and directs the four 90-minute chapters with Daniel Palladino.

Also featuring other returning cast members such as Kelly Bishop, Scott Patterson, Keiko Agena, Liza Weil, Danny Strong, Milo Ventimiglia, Jared Padalecki and Matt Czuchry, the four-episode continuation will be released November 25 on Netflix, AceShowbiz says.

Are YOU excited to see Gilmore Girls return? They’re shown enjoying a cup of coffee at their kitchen table, pondering important life issues, like whether or not Amy Schumer would like Lorelai and if John Oliver would think she was hot. “It took on this weird life of its own”, Sherman-Palladino said.

Nearly all of the show’s beloved characters will return in some capacity, with the notable exception of Richard Gilmore.

Sherman-Palladino said she favored releasing the episodes individually in order to give viewers a chance to savor them, but that won’t happen.

But before the Gilmores start leading where we will follow (theme song reference!), Netflix will be premiering additional original content. Finally, Graham nailed exactly why “Gilmore Girls” has such staying power, even nine years after it went off the air.

Lauren Graham has some big news. “It’s not a story about a little girl anymore who is in high school”, Graham said. The show – set in CT – tells the story of the mother-and-daughter Lorelei and Rory Gilmore as they search for love and happiness. “It really is a journey leading up to the last four words”, she said, according to Vulture. She added that family conflict was, for a writer, “the gift that keeps on giving”.
