Watch the new trailer for JJ Abrams’ ’10 Cloverfield Lane’

And no, it’s not what you think, but it makes this movie even more intriguing, especially as it’s equally clear that there’s something going on over their heads, and it might be much uglier than we think.

Written by Josh Campbell, Matt Stuecken, and Damien Chazelle, the film was directed by Dan Trachtenberg. During the episode, Paramount released another trailer for the J.J. Abrams-produced 10 Cloverfield Lane. We don’t entirely know the length to which 10 Cloverfield Lane is connected to Cloverfield, but viral marketing is already starting to bridge the gap between the two films. The idea was developed over time.

Other than the realization that Cloverfield is back and this time we have a specific address and John Goodman acting all creepy, there’s a lot to ponder over the delayed sequel. Luckily we don’t have to wait much longer to find out what’s actually happening, because 10 Cloverfield Lane hits theaters on March 11.

It has been rumoured that the film was originally shot as a standalone movie called Valencia, which was rewritten and retitled in 2015 to tie it into Cloverfield. There’s a lot of, who’s manipulating who, and all of that. In the latest trailer, Goodman definitely isn’t winning any nice guy points either as despite saying he’s rescued Mary Elizabeth Winstead from the outside world, she’s definitely woken up shackled on a mattress.
