Watch The Trailer For Melissa McCarthy’s New Comedy ‘The Boss’

And we’ve one more McCarthy-led comedy before Ghostbusters goes nuts next year. Still The Boss looks like a glossier affair, and who doesn’t want to see McCarthy fighting with a whole group of young girls.

No, The Boss is not about Bruce Springsteen. And it is McCarthy who takes centre stage in this brand new poster for the film.

There are a few promising moments in the trailer, because any movie that gives McCarthy the opportunity to spew comically aggressive, colorfully worded aggression is going to have a few laughs. Falcone also wrote “Tammy” alongside McCarthy and they are both now working on another project entitled “Just Do It”.

As the footage illustrates, McCarthy stars as Michelle Darnell – the self-proclaimed richest woman in America – who gets sent to prison when she’s convicted of insider training. When she emerges ready to rebrand herself as America’s latest sweetheart, not everyone she screwed over is so quick to forgive and forget.

Kristen Bell plays a single mom in the movie, and McCarthy’s hubs in real life, Ben Falcone, also plays a role.

Universal Pictures will release The Boss in theaters on April 8, 2016.

Kristen Bell (House Of Lies), Peter Dinklage (Game Of Thrones), Kristen Schaal (The Last Man On Earth), Kathy Bates (American Horror Story), Cecily Strong (Saturday Night Live), Margo Martindale (The Americans, Justified), Timothy Simons (Veep) and Annie Mumolo (About A Boy) all appear in various supporting roles, as McCarthy’s Michelle Darnell seeks redemption by leading a Brownie troupe to rapturous glory. The film is produced by McCarthy and Falcone through their On the Day productions and Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Chris Henchy through their Gary Sanchez Productions.
