Two American astronauts helped move a stalled rail vehicle back into place outside the International Space Station on Monday, quickly finishing the primary job of an unplanned spacewalk before moving on to other housekeeping tasks.

Kelly and Kopra fixed the stuck rail auto in 15 minutes, leaving them time to tackle work to prepare the station for new modules, said mission commentator Rob Navias from NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston.
We’d popped out for about an hour to see our daughter who lives nearby, came home to an answer phone message, “Hello, this is your son from the International Space Station”.
He is the first United Kingdom astronaut to be selected by the European Space Agency and will spend six months aboard the space station.
Space station managers wanted to ensure the component was latched down ahead of the arrival of a cargo supply ship at the ISS on Wednesday.
Tomorrow, astronauts Kelly and Kopra will start their EVA from Quest airlock and move to the rail with stacked platform.
Major Peake’s mother Angela said: “We’ve got used to calling him Flat Tim, so Flat Tim will be having dinner with us on Christmas Day”.
Engineers believe a stuck brake handle is to blame.
“From the schoolchildren who watched the launch in class, people watching on the underground, and viewers outside of United Kingdom, your messages have shown how much interest there is in space and they mean a great deal to me”.
Be part of it.
