“I don’t know that I want to say more about that”.

Well, as we reported, after her win Viola obtained a few fairly harsh criticism relating to her speech, particularly from fellow ABC actress General Hospital’s Nancy Lee Grahn.
“Do you remember who won that competition?” asked Jimmy.
Since her Twitter rant, Grahn has publicly apologized for her social media messages.
In fact, the soap opera star went as far as calling it a “venue for racial opportunity“. In her speech, Davis spoke of her pride in receiving the award, being the first black woman in the Emmys’ 67-year span to win the coveted prize.
Amid the controversy, Grahn tweeted directly at Davis and HTGAWM’s creator, Shonda Rhimes, apologizing for her careless remarks. “I said, ‘If I go with the Harriet Tubman, they may think it’s militant”.
She adds, “I’m only kidding”.
“30 yrs an advocate 4 human rights & now i’m a racist”. Color me heartbroken. Twitter can bring out the best & sadly tonight the worst of us. “I never mean to diminish her accomplishment”. She is a goddess.

I apologize 2 anyone who I offended. I’m [a woman’s] advocate since I became one.
