Waterproof iPhone 7 has no liquid damage cover and that is alright
Since Apple’s (NASDAQ: AAPL) iPhone 7 unveiling on Wednesday morning, the stock has pulled back about 5%. Industry analysts say the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, which Apple introduced last fall, didn’t offer many compelling new features over the previous year’s models.

The quick answer is no; the iPhone 7 is not waterproof. Or as Bob O’Donnell, a veteran consumer tech analyst at Technalysis Research, puts it: “You start losing those things at $160 a pair, you’re going to go insane”. It’s a tad more water resistant than Apple’s newest offering, and its display screen is also a bit bigger, sharper, and richer.
OS X was a massive change from Apple – and it needed time for both developers and customers to get used to it. Apple could be doing the same thing with the iPhone 7.
In fact, Sony made the switch from “waterproof” to “water-resistant” marketing with its own Xperia line-up only past year, thanks in part to the liability headache that comes with waterproofing electronics.
Right, we told a fib at the start. That rating comes from a standards body called the International Electrotechnical Commission. “Test duration of up to 8 hours based on air flow”. One to be Apple compliant, and one for the rest of us.
An iPhone 7 Plus will cost you a minimum of £45 a month, with a £149 upfront cost. An iPhone 6 can be traded in for $210 to $270 depending on the color, carrier, condition and storage capacity, according to quotes on the site. Finally, you could always try selling it yourself on eBay.
However, you shouldn’t worry about getting the phone a little wet.
Before you sell keep in mind to un-pair your old phone from a watch, back up your information to your computer or iCloud and return the phone back to its factory settings. You can have your iPhone 7 near the sink when washing up. Do not attempt to charge a wet iPhone; refer to the user guide for cleaning and drying instructions. And automatic synching to multiple devices (Mac, iPad, iPhone) seemed to “work really well”.

This whole issue started when Apple made a decision to do away with the 3.5 mm headphone jack, but as a consolation prize of sorts, it did package the new iPhone with a pair of Lightning EarPods plus a Lightning to 3.5 mm adapter to boot.
If your phone is completely borked as a result of getting wet, you’re going to have to find your own solution.
AT&T is offering up to $650 in credits to new customers who trade in their old phone and buy a new one and plan through the provider. Once again, we’re sorry.
On Sept. 16, Apple will release the iPhone 7 in 28 countries worldwide – up from 12 countries last year – expanding the initial launch to most of Western Europe after limiting last year’s initial European rollout to the UK, France and Germany.

The cheapest deal for the 32GB iPhone 7 lets you consume 4GB of 4G data and AYCE minutes and texts by paying £37 a month and an upfront of £149.
