Wayne Rogers, Trapper John on ‘M.A.S.H.,’ dies at 82
Entertainment Tonight, which broke the story, says Rogers died from complication from pneumonia.

Rogers was on the show for just the first three of its 11 seasons on CBS, but his run, and his character, are especially revered by show devotees. The actor felt that Alan Alda’s character, “Hawkeye” Pierce, was increasingly the focus of the show. “On the day we met we promised each other to give MASH everything we had, and that promise bonded us”.
Before starring on M.A.S.H. Wayne Rogerswas born on April 7, 1933.in Birmingham, Alabama.
He also had a recurring role in the Angela Lansbury drama Murder She Wrote and was awarded a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame in 2005. He graduated from Princeton University with a degree in history, and though he did some acting with a group out of college, he didn’t devote himself to it full time until after military service in the 1950s.
Sad news for fans of the television show ‘M*A*S*H’.
In the early days of his acting career, Rogers appeared in numerous TV westerns, as well as small roles in movies such as Cool Hand Luke and The Glory Guys.
Later life was spent as a money manager and investor, with Wayne a regular panellist on a Fox News stock investment show.

The actor is survived by his spouse, Amy, and his youngsters Bill and Laura from his first marriage to actress Mitzi McWhorter.
