Wayne Rooney “my man” says Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho
Crisis over. For now.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has fired a warning shot at star midfielder Paul Pogba despite the huge win over defending champions Leicester City.
Wayne Rooney was left out of the Red Devils XI, fuelling speculation about the future of the Manchester United captain. Leicester scored a brilliant consolation via the right boot of Damarai Gray on the hour but that was never going to alter the course of the match.
“His United won and that’s normal, he’s happy”. “I think it was a really good performance”. It’s not easy to win against them, and even more hard to win in such a comfortable way.
“It is about finding that consistency to make sure that we stay at that top end of that table because we don’t want any more blips”.
“Some guys adapt more quickly but I think what is more hard for them is the fact myself and Mr Van Gaal, we think football in a different way”. This time we analysed and coped.
The pair dictated the play throughout the game, even though the duo were only playing together for the second time this season.
“Today we had intensity, movement and dynamism”, Mourinho said. To win at home, against the champions, is very good.
Mourinho told his players before the match to relish the pressure and enjoy living the dream of those fans crammed into Old Trafford.
Chris Smalling’s header broke the deadlock on 22 minutes, before Juan Mata Garcia doubled the advantage as a dominant United attacked with impunity.
With the new captain getting the first goal, Rooney’s replacement in the No. 10 position got the second.
Speaking after the game, Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho said: “I think the team played very well”. The team was quicker to react when the ball was lost and we were very objective, we had lots of fast football.
Rooney eventually appeared in the 83rd minute for Rashford.
Mourinho said it was a tactical decision to drop Rooney, a day after saying the striker had struggled under the weight of media criticism since a poor display for England against Slovakia on September 4.
