Wayne Rooney’s new behind-the-scenes BBC film features Cristiano Ronaldo and
In the film, to be aired on BBC One next Tuesday, Rooney pays tribute to Ferguson who signed him from Everton in 2004.

But Gary Lineker is about to change all that with a behind-the-scenes look at Rooney’s life away from football.
Ever wondered what life is like in the Rooney household? “For him to be interested in me and wanting me to play under him, there was nowhere else I was going to go”.
Under the Red Devils’ current manager, Louis van Gaal, Rooney is still a vital player, with the attacker usually operating in the number nine or ten role.
United fans. Should Wilson be starting ahead of Rooney after his poor performances in the league this season? “He’s a fantastic boy and he helped me a lot”, Ronaldo says.
“The future nobody knows”.
That was certainly the case when Rooney rushed back from a broken foot to play in the 2006 World Cup.
“You could feel the excitement building around the World Cup and it was touch-and-go as to whether I would be fit”.
“And then all of a sudden it was all over the press I’ve put a transfer request in which I never did. We had a great friendship during the six seasons I played at Old Trafford”.
Rooney burst on to the worldwide scene at Euro 2004 but has subsequently struggled to hit the same heights, and believes it is down to the expectancy he puts on himself.
“I go into tournaments and I’m always confident – for some reason it just hasn’t happened”. “Maybe I just put too much pressure on myself”. “That was stupid of me to do that”.
“I didn’t do nothing bad. The one I have been most excited about was Fabio Capello with his record”.
Real Madrid winger Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted that he does not regret getting his former Manchester United teammate Wayne Rooney sent off at World Cup 2006. It is wonderful to score goals, but I think the pinnacle is to win the World Cup. “Many did. Some left, some stayed”.
The pair clashed again just before Ferguson’s retirement two years ago, when Rooney was being left out of the team.

“He was the reason why I wanted to join Man United, to work with him”, Rooney says. “I never really had that match sharpness”.
