Wayne Rooney vows players will fight to save Louis van Gaal's job
Louis van Gaal “doesn’t understand English football” and is “not a head coach for Manchester United”, says their former winger Andrei Kanchelskis.

“United travel to face Stoke City on Boxing Day before hosting champions Chelsea on December 28 – fixtures that both ended in 1-1 draws last season”.
Van Gaal walked out of his weekly press conference on Wednesday after accusing the media of trying to undermine him, while rumours have been circulating all week that he is set to be replaced by Jose Mourinho.
You have a lot of people talking about things that they believe are happening. You have to cope with every circumstance and that is why we are preparing ourselves for that game so we can show the players what it is like.
Rooney explained that it does not feel nice to be criticised every week adding that it becomes tough for players to deal with such things.
United are struggling under Van Gaal and are without a win in their last six games.
The club is fifth in the table, below fourth-placed Tottenham on goal difference but nine points behind surprise leaders Leicester.
Van Gaal basically called on the media to apologise for the coverage surrounding his position at the club in recent days, and made clear he was unhappy with the line: “Do you think that I want to talk with the media now?”
“We have to be strong together and try to get the better results we need”.
United have back-to-back home games against Chelsea and Swansea following their meeting with Stoke.
England’s record goalscorer says it can be difficult to handle the criticism that gets thrown his way, and revealed it has been especially hard for his family to take.
“We need to get through this group of games coming up, the last few results haven’t been good enough. I’m working hard to improve that and try and do my best for the team”, Rooney said.
