Wayward dog rescued from highway construction site
A lost dog found itself in a risky predicament at the US 53 bridge construction site in Virginia last week – but workers building the bridge came to the rescue. At first, they thought Hat Trick was a fox.

When the workers got Hat Trick safely to the ground, they gave her some water and called her owners.
Crew members spotted the dog and were able to rescue her using a man lift.
After determining that it was a wayward dog – a dog that needed help – crews tried to coax it the rest of the way down.
According to MnDOT officials, the 12-year-old Golden Retriever named Hat Trick or “Hattie” for short got herself stuck behind the rock netting on Friday.
But it was an ill-advised trip that she took along a rock face at the Highway 53 construction site outside Virginia, Minn., the Minnesota Department of Transportation reports on its Facebook page.
The dog was wearing a collar with an ID tag.
