Waze now has a Global Event Partner Program for organizers
Even those who won’t be attending, the regular Waze users, will also be helped since you’ll know which roads to avoid and which ones are closed. Major events often involve road closures, road blocks, and far too many cars being funneled into singular lanes, all of which cause massive pileups.

Waze is taking things up a notch in terms of helping drivers everywhere steer clear of traffic and get the most efficient routes to their destinations with the new Global Event Partner Program.
The GPS app Waze has come up with a way to help prevent the heat deaths of children and pets with a new safety feature. Event organizers can also embed a live traffic map on their site to help attendees plan their drive.
Google-owned Global Positioning System driving app Waze is seeking collaboration with event organizers around the world as it looks to improve traffic congestion through improved communication about major events.
Calling all stadium, marathon, and event organizers! Today, this also includes the Waze Connected Citizens Program, which sees Waze working with municipal organizations; Waze for Broadcasters; and the Waze Transport SDK, which lets transport and other on-demand companies like Lyft integrate Waze with their own native applications.
We’re kicking the program off with 20 inaugural partners spanning North America, Latin America, Eastern Europe, and Asia.

Right now, the launch partners are limited, including the Rock “n” Roll Marathon series and a number of sports teams, including the Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Lions.
