‘We can not be intimidated’ by ISIS, say NY officials
He spoke from Times Square, a popular tourist spot that appears in the video.

During a news conference outside a police precinct in Times Square, Police Commissioner William Bratton said there was nothing new about the video, which he called “hastily produced”. “So one part is for potential recruits, the other part is for us, but we operate under a fairly high state of alert normally (in NY City)”.
The NY City Police Department is taking the video as a “specific threat” and will continue to keep a “heightened state of vigilance” throughout the coming weeks.
But Bill de Blasio has an easy response to the ISIS threat against NY City Just ignore it.
So what do you do now if you’re planning to visit NY City for the holidays? “We will not submit to their wishes”, De Blasio said.
“There is, as we have repeated frequently, no city in America that is better prepared to defend and protect against a terrorist attack”.
John Miller, the NYPD deputy commissioner of intelligence and counterterrorism, said a similar tape had already been released in April. “That video was simply boilerplate that (the Islamic State group) uses to attract attention”.
The video also included several scenes in Manhattan and a previous footage that also warned to attack the said city.
“Stoking fear is the goal of terrorist organizations, but NY City will not be intimidated”, de Blasio said, encouraging New Yorkers to “go about their business” as normal, while remaining watchful.
The Islamic State has released a new propaganda video threatening attacks on NY City.
“It is a mishmash of previously released video”.
Security in busy areas of the city, which include Times Square and Herald Square, has been increased as a precautionary measure.
“This is an old video that was kind of rehashed”, he said.
Terrorists truly have put the fear of God in everyone with people seeming more suspicious and skittish than usual.

Bratton said in a statement “Be aware, but do not be afraid”. It also has its own anti-terrorism unit, which has detectives in France right now finding out more about how ISIS operated there, so they know what to look for here.
