We trust you, but we will ascertain facts: PM Modi to Pakistan
India has sought action by Pakistan on the evidence provided for apprehending the JeM terrorists suspected to have been involved in the January 2 attack.

Several suspicious people were arrested in a raid on a seminary allegedly being run by proscribed Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militant outfit here on Thursday.
After Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar met Sushma Swaraj, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup had, earlier, said, “The decision(on FS talks) will be taken after the meeting”.
Pakistan has also said it’s considering sending a special investigation team to Pathankot as more information would be required to carry forward the process of cooperation with India. So the government of Pakistan has to say, are they (Pakistan) in control or not, or that the government of Pakistan doesn’t matter.
According to the official, the team made a decision to expedite the probe, whose progress is clearly linked to the Foreign Secretary-level talks between the two countries which was to be held today but was deferred.
Jaish-e-Mohammad militants are blamed for a 2001 attack on India’s parliament that almost led to a war between the nuclear-armed rivals. “Thirteen years after the group was banned by the state, why was it able to still operate offices that are only now being sealed?” the Dawn asked about the JeM.
The attack came days after the Indian and Pakistani leaders, Narendra Modi and Nawaz Sharif, met in Lahore to launch a surprise peace initiative.

“We strongly condemn these attacks and … we recognise that terror is too often on India’s doorstep”, she added.
