Flanked by other Dalit ministers, Arjun Ram Meghwal and Krishna Raj, Gehlot said the Gujarat Police had arrested 17 people and a senior CID official was probing the case.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday observed that Rahul Gandhi, who blamed RSS for the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, should not have resorted to “collective denunciation” of an organisation and will have to face trial in the defamation case against him if he does not express regret.
Speaking on the Kashmir issue, Gandhi said: “Recent events in valley are tragic and pose grave challenge to country”.
The hearing saw the Bench adopting a stentorian tone quite different from November previous year when it had offered Mr. Gandhi an opportunity to express regret over the remarks and give the issue a “decent burial”.
Offended by the same, RSS activist Rajesh Kunte had filed a criminal defamation case against Rahul. What is curbed is the right to speak freely. “What the writers, politicians, critics or antagonists say, you must have great magnitude to swallow”.
Further hitting out at the Congress for trying to gain political mileage by chiming in at the last minute over the Dalit issue, she further said that the grand old party had joined the party according to their own convenience.
Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi may have to face the heat of the judiciary for his comments that RSS killed Mahatma Gandhi.
It likewise said “the objective behind the law is not to change over individuals into defendants”.
The Supreme Court then posted the plea for further hearing on July 27.
Lok Sabha Wednesday saw uproar over thrashing of some dalits by some people in Gujarat, with Congress accusing BJP and RSS of working for “dalit-mukt Bharat”, evoking a sharp reaction from government which cited figures of atrocities faced by dalits during Congress rule.
Don’t you think rahul gandhi sleeping is still better than rahul gandhi speaking?
“Rahul Gandhi will present all historical evidence in support of his case in a court of law”. Indeed, the most notable observation made by the bench is that it had asked the counsel of Rahul Gandhi to explain how his statement served any public good and how it was not a matter of trial.

Gandhi was accompanied by Gurudas Kamat, who is in charge of the party’s affairs in Gujarat, state Congress chief Bharatsinh Solanki and other party leaders here as well as former Union minister and Dalit leader Kumari Selja.
