Weather girl does entire live weather report using Star Wars quotes
Thirty-odd years after a young farmboy walked out into the deserts of Tatooine and gazed up at two moons hanging in the sky, a young woman on the planet Jakku sits down in a sand dune and dons a battle-scarred Rebel helmet, starring out into similar desert, pock-marked now by the skeletal remains of burned out Star Destroyers.

Which is why I’m delighted to report that The Force Awakens is without doubt a quality Star Wars sequel, which blows the prequels away.
The Force is very much with director JJ Abrams who is aided by a great cast led by smart, savvy scavenger Rey (excellent newcomer Daisy Ridley).
“It helps a lot to have somebody who gives as much as J.J. does”, Ford said. Its name is BB-8 and, along with a nervous ex-stormtrooper named Finn, played by John Boyega, they set off on an intergalactic adventure. Reviews were embargoed until Wednesday but when they were finally published, many critics praised the film and the first fans who saw it approved.
In an appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show, Lupita Nyong’o said that when she auditioned for the movie, she was just told that it was a J.J. Abrams project and that he was working on a big film. And then there’s Luke.
Wicket, the loveable Ewok from “Return of the Jedi”, was played by 11-year-old Warwick Davis.
The trio of legends who showed up in the first of the blockbusters in 1977 – the bootlegger Han Solo, Princess Leia, the pioneer of the agitator union, and her twin sibling Luke Skywalker – are back being played by the same performing artists that Star Wars first made renowned. One thing, though, is for certain: We wouldn’t be here without him.
A group of stormtroopers from the First Order opened the red carpet. But honestly, who really expected Disney to take the franchise in bold new directions? It’s not quite the same thing as being cautiously optimistic, which seems to be the attitude adopted by many hardcore Star Wars fans, myself included.
As the first screenings started points of interest rose of the plot. Even in the most helpless situation imaginable, Rey can’t be intimidated.
And boy are we excited about the future.

Kasdan, a “Star Wars” veteran with screenwriting credits for “Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi” under his belt, revealed that the collaboration with Abrams was based on a simple agreement: “Being amusing”. Those films earned roughly $2.5 billion collectively at the global box office and were the gateway into the “Star Wars” universe for a new generation, but they are not generally held in the same regard as the original trilogy. It’s a near-impossible demand, and even if The Force Awakens is a technically good (maybe even great) film, free from the bumbling incompetency of the Movies We Shall Not Name, it won’t be able to hit as hard, to resonate as deeply, as the trilogy of movies that Star Wars fans have watched countless times over the years and can quote from front to back without thinking.
