WEATHER: Localized flooding a concern as rain expected to return today

We are tracking scattered showers and storms that will taper off this evening.

Sunday begins with thickening clouds in the morning, then rain showers move in.

The second half of the week looks cooler but also drier. Some sunshine southerly winds again tomorrow will drive the highs into the low 80s.

First, a few more days of cooler temperatures start the week. Daytime highs warmed up into the upper 70s and low 80s inland while coastal areas were in the mid and upper 60s. The mountains will have highs in the mid 50s to mid 70s, and the coastal and interior valleys will have highs in the upper 60s and 70s.

Today we will see mostly cloudy skies. It won’t have much of an impact on temperatures through the middle of the week.

The best chance of rain arrives late Friday but it is short-lived and light. Morning temperatures will remain chilly with pleasant afternoon highs in the low 70s. Rain and thunderstorm chances will head higher early the following week.
