The weather system will carry with it a blast of arctic air that could drop an inch or two of snow on the higher peaks in the Bay Area. Temperatures are warmer Monday night, 15° to 20° warmer than same time Sunday. We’ll see a good mix of clouds and sunshine with highs reaching the upper 60s during the afternoon.

Snow will continue off and on all day, accumulating another 2 or 3 inches.

An NWS meteorologist wrote, “While snowfall amounts will vary, early Thanksgiving travelers planning a trip across the Coast Range or into the Cascades should be prepared for winter travel conditions”.

A coastal flood advisory is also in place Tuesday through Friday because of expected high tides.

Cold and blustery weather is expected to follow and to last well into the Thanksgiving weekend. Partly cloudy skies with winds shifting to the south/southwest.

Our next weather maker really starts to take shape across the Plains Thanksgiving Day, and will likely lead to travel problems for many heading west. While numerous clouds are expected and some afternoon and evening showers are possible, the overall rain chance is just 30%.

Expect highs Tuesday and Wednesday to be in the mid to upper 50s with skies that are mostly to partly sunny.

A brisk northwest wind up to about 20 miles per hour will keep a subtle chill in the air this morning, even though temperatures are fairly mild in the 50s.

Thanksgiving Day should be mostly sunny with a high near 77.

We’ll have a break before another storm moves in Friday night through Saturday. As the humidity levels continue to increase we could see some patchy fog early Wednesday morning. The longer the clouds hang in our skies the better chances of us seeing lows closer to 25°.
