The wind chill in G.R.is -3. We have a Lake Effect Snow Advisory that runs this afternoon and early tonight for Northern Erie and Genesee Counties, including the Metro Buffalo area. Up to 6 inches could fall from the eastern half of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to northern Lower Michigan into Monday night. Monday night will be cloudy and breezy with a low in the low 20s. There will also be chances of light snow showers across the Great Basin.

Wednesday: Partly sunny. High temperature near 24 degrees, low temperature of 21 degrees. Winds will shift from south-southeast to the the southwest about noon and start to pick up quickly as the afternoon wears on. Snow showers overnight, mainly after midnight. Breezy, with a west wind 18 to 22 miles per hour. The system will impact the lake-shore with higher accumulations expected there than areas further inland. Snow showers are possible daily from Sunday through Friday in the Rochester area, the weather service said. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. Sustained winds west winds of 15-25 miles per hour with higher gusts continue.
More lake effect is expected Wednesday and Thursday, with a chance of general snowfall on Friday. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 36. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

Then on Saturday into Sunday a storm system is expected to bring “measurable” snow to our area, though a rain/sleet/snow boundary will split the state into thirds. Snow totals of 1 to 2 feet are possible in locations where snow bands are most persistent, along with strong winds.
