Weather: Sunny, with temperatures in mid-80s today

The National Service has issued a special weather statement for all of southeaster MI including Macomb County.

Forecasters are suggesting residents drink plenty of water and make sure their cooling systems are functioning.

Highs will reach between 99 and 105 on Saturday, according to the weather service, but will only reach into the high 90s on Sunday.

It will be mostly clear Tuesday night with a low of 55. The initial warning was in effect until 8 p.m. Sunday, with highs from 109 to 117 degrees. Living spaces without air conditioning could become uncomfortable during the day.

Those storms aren’t expected to bring much in the way of rain, but the lightning could spark fires, the Weather Service warned.

News 12 Long Island meteorologist Rich Hoffman said humidity levels will drop Monday but it still will be warm and sunny. Southeast wind around 7 miles per hour. Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 88.

The elderly, young children, and those with high blood pressure are most susceptible to the heat. Light and variable wind becoming east, southeast 5 to 7 miles per hour in the morning. Saturday night’s low will be around 71.
