Webb to consider running for president as an independent

Jim Webb, a Democratic candidate in the 2016 presidential race, will hold a press conference on Tuesday to discuss running as an independent in the presidential race, his campaign announced Monday. In case the message wasn’t clear, that statement came in an email accompanied with the subject line: “Jim Webb To Consider Independent Run”.

The release stated he will “discuss his candidacy, the campaign and his views of’ the political parties in the current election cycle”. Still, if he runs as an independent, it could have an impact in his home state. However, he has consistently ranked low in voter polls in those states and nationally.

Webb was disappointed that the last Democratic debate did not distribute time equally to all of the candidates on stage.

His presidential campaign had just over $316,000 cash as of September 1, according to federal campaign filings. Bernie Sanders. Webb repeatedly complained he was being ignored.
