Wedding guests receive bill for missed meals
Jessica Baker told KARE her mother was supposed to watch her kids for the wedding but “something came up” and she was unavailable. Baker had asked her mother to take care of her kids on account that children were not allowed at the ceremony or reception.

The bill covered the cost of two meals, plus tax and a service charge, according to the station.
She added she understands that weddings are expensive, but advised to “prepare for about 10 percent of overage or underage when you’re planning a big event like that”.
Imagine yourself in this scenario: You’ve invited tons of people to your wedding, have everything perfectly planned, the tables set, and the meals ready to be served. “What the right thing to do would have been”, Baker said.
What would you do if you got a bill like this?
Why one no show wedding guest is refusing to pay a $75 cancelation bill after failing to make it to her “friend’s” wedding.
A few weeks later, she got a bill (above) for the meals that she and her husband didn’t get to eat.
“She called at the last minute and had something come up and said I can’t make it”, said Baker.
Baker posted the bill on Facebook and received tons of sage advice from ticked-off strangers.
“The bride and the groom are a couple that we’ve not heard from for the 12 years that we’ve been married, so I’m not very close to the bride and groom really at all”, she said.
“I laughed a little bit and just kind of thought about it, that maybe there was something I could have done differently”, Baker said.
Baker did not go so far as to name the bride or detail their relationship, which it seems will likely now be over.
Jessica said she has no plans to pay the bill.

Did she send a gift in lieu of her absence? “If you have to change plans at the last minute, a host of any kind should show courtesy, respect and understanding toward their guests”.
