Wednesday dump Newcastle out of Cup

Arsenal defeated fierce local rivals Tottenham in the third round of the F.A Cup on Wednesday night thanks to a brace from an unlikely source in midfielder Mathieu Flamini.

Yeah anyway, most people have likely already forgotten that Adam Bogdan saved three out of five penalties fired at him in Liverpool’s advancement to the 4th round of the Capitol One Cup on Wednesday night, probably because of the brain cell-murdering dullness of the preceding 120 minutes.

I’ve been following Liverpool for so long – my favourite times were when Ian Rush and John Barnes were playing – and I’ve always looked out for them.

Second-string Liverpool goalkeeper and newly-minted penalty hero Adam Bogdan reveals how he saved those penalties.

ESPN FC has been told that scouts have been flocking to Brunton Park to cast an eye over Gillespie and the likes of Leicester City, Burnley and Brighton & Hove Albion are all weighing up moves in January.

“The only shot I had to save was their goal as we controlled the whole game“. “You see and hear things, but you can only concentrate on your own job”.

The fourth round draw brought together some fascinating clashes and our cameras will be at both the aforementioned games on October 27 and 28. Profit. I hope everybody is taking notes.

Up next for the Merseysiders is Aston Villa’s visit to Anfield Road in the Premier League tomorrow and Bogdan is conscious of how important a victory is.

“But the main thing is we went through to the next round and we’re happy about that”.

The Merseysiders had taken an early lead in the game through Danny Ings but were pegged back by a goal from Derek Asamoah after 34 minutes then could not find a breakthrough despite battering at the door and missing a series of chances. “I’m training with great players and I’m going home with a smile on my face every day”. Ramires then set up the game’s second, running at Wallsall’s back four before sliding the ball to Remy for an easy sidefoot. It was a hell of an effort and I’ve got nothing but high praise for everyone involved.

“Afterwards the manager shook my hand and congratulated me, but he didn’t say anything special”.
