Weeden leads Texans past Colts 16-10 for AFC South lead
They couldn’t win in December 2012 when they were facing a rookie quarterback with a shot at the AFC’s No. 1 seed.

The Texans were 0-13 all-time in the Circle City and had lost six straight in a decidedly lopsided series. He played today, but he was again beat up and was slow to get up a number of times.
And they have Weeden and the defense to thank for it. With Hoyer out, T.J. Yates gets his second start of the season after leading the Texans to a huge 10-6 win over the then-unbeaten Bengals earlier this year.
“We knew when we were 2-5 that we had a good team and we could turn this around”, Hopkins said.
Will the Colts or the Texans find victory in this one?
The Colts and the Texans are still tied atop the AFC South standings – despite being a game below. The Colts didn’t score in the second half, and only gained 72 yards. “The guy is still wrecking games and affecting games and causing people a lot of problems”, Pagano said. Luck has a lacerated kidney and has not been cleared to play in a game. No capes or anything. “Just a fantastic job by him, a tough, tough kid, talented kid”. They might have lost to the Falcons Sunday, but Blake Bortles is playing well enough to make the Texans nervous heading into the final week. He finished 11-of-18 for 105 yards, and was not intercepted, in just over a half of play. Strong caught it, raced up the field and dived into the end zone. That was all Houston needed.
Teams always have an emergency option should the quarterback reserve run dry.
Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota has left Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots with an apparent injury to his right knee. He didn’t participate in practice this week and has not cleared concussion protocol, but it’s possible he’ll get back to full health in time to return in time to start against the Titans.
Part of the reason Hasselbeck and the Colts struggled to move the ball was the impressive play of Houston’s defensive front.
Nick Novak added his second field goal, from 32 yards out, with 1:56 left. If that continues, the playoffs probably will be out of reach.
Nor are too many going to remember that it was Alfred Blue’s 107 yards on 20 carries that gave the offense a lifeline throughout the game.
Houston blanked the Colts in the second half and limited Indianapolis to only 190 total yards, including 50 on the ground.

Dumped by the Cleveland Browns just two years after being selected in the 2012 first round, and cut last month by the Dallas Cowboys after failing miserably as Tony Romo’s first injury replacement, Weeden latched on with the Texans as mere late-season, third-string injury insurance – his pro career barely alive.
