Weeden runs for TD, throws 2 more as Texans rout Titans 34
The Tennessee Titans had no real answers for the Houston Texans on Sunday falling 34-6 in the home finale at Nissan Stadium.

PASS DEFENSE: B. The Texans allowed just 234 yards and 27 completions on 51 attempts as Zach Mettenberger was sacked once by J.J. Watt. When Yates suffered a torn ACL last week, newly signed Brandon Weeden came on and went 11 of 18 for 105 yards and a touchdown pass to Jalen Strong in a 16-10 win over the Colts. Nick Novak also kicked a 22-yard field goal, and Weeden hit former Titans wide receiver Nate Washington for a 13-yard TD in the third quarter after Eddie Pleasant took the ball away from Andrews after a catch.
The Titans and Browns both have 3-12 records, but the Titans’ opponents’ strength of schedule is.495, compared to. “Now, we’re on to the Jaguars”. “We were 2-5 earlier in the year and everyone wrote us off, but we just kept plugging”. Hoyer, who opened the season as the team’s starter, has been in and out of the lineup all season due to injury and ineffectiveness.
Turnovers were what really doomed the Titans in this lopsided train wreck. “Because if you point a finger, someone can always point it back at you”. Houston Texans free safety Quintin Demps recovered the fumble and returned it for a touchdown.
“The game’s not over then”, Mettenberger said. “He’s got plenty of games, lots of games to go, and we won’t expose him at all”. “Unfortunately, we were unable to do that”. Weeden holds the postseason future for the Texans in his hand, provided Hoyer does miss Sunday’s game, as expected.
Tennessee offered little resistance in absorbing its third straight loss and dropping to 2-14 at home over the last two years. Weeden came in and passed for 105 yards and a touchdown to lead the Texans to the victory.
Weeden previously started three games for the Dallas Cowboys this season, losing all three after replacing Tony Romo in week two against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Weeden scored on a seven-yard touchdown run to make it 17-0 at halftime. They have been outscored 97-30 over the last three games and look like a team that can’t wait for this season to end.
A late touchdown helped the Titans avoid their first shutout in five years.
This coming Sunday on the road at the Colts, yet another Titans season will come to a merciful end.

“It’s going to be the team that makes the least amount of mistakes”, Mettenberger said. This is a game we’d like to win to finish the season off…. While O’Brien knows this, he just wants his team to pick up its ninth win of 2015 on Sunday, and will eschew tuning in this evening.
