Week 10 Sleeper Picks

If he simply can maintain his average from the last month, which should be easy considering the Baltimore pass defense, Bortles will provide 2.9 points per $1,000 spent on FanDuel and a ridiculous 4.5 per $1,000 on DraftKings. He’s had a few up and down weeks, but scored two touchdowns and ran for 123 yards in Week 2, and showed he has flat-out speed in the open field. Hurns has also scored six times which is the same total as Demaryius Thomas (one), Antonio Brown (three) and Jeremy Maclin (two)… combined. The Saints are one of only two teams averaging more than 71 offensive plays per game, so the volume is guaranteed no matter.

Detroit Lions: Aaron Rodgers has been taking a few grief for his play of late. Randle caught all five of his targets Sunday for40 yards and broke a four-game touchdown drought by getting into the end zone. This appears to be James Starks’ backfield for now. True, Lacy may get another shot, but he is in that “prove it to me” spot now.

New England Patriots running back Dion Lewis went down with a non-contact injury against the Washington Redskins on Sunday afternoon. Kudos to Bill Belichick for that. St. Louis is the only one of those matchups that I’m hesitant about.

After finishing third in the league last season with 24 receptions of 20 yards or more, Cobb’s big-play ability had been missing this season, at least until last week when he secured two such plays against the Carolina Panthers.

Travis Kelce – Chiefs: The Chiefs face a Broncos defense this week that has been the best defense all season long, and now they are without their lone stud in Jamaal Charles. As good as the Panthers have been this year, they clearly need someone to step up alongside Greg Olsen in the passing game. Ginn remains a big-play threat, but Brown is emerging as the more consistent complement to TE Greg Olsen. While Diggs is not at Brown’s level, he’s a similar type of receiver, and should get back on track after the first quiet game of his career. I hope I can do better than both of them.

Todd Gurley middle for 1 yard.

Robinson has looked good of late, pulling in four touchdowns and 256 yards in the past three weeks, but he will have his work cut out for him this weekend. Pittsburgh plays Cleveland this week and they believe they can get by with Landry Jones as the starter. However, despite one or two down games earlier in the year (as he battled injuries), Julio Jones takes our top wide receiver slot. Kamar Aiken should be ready to go considering the Ravens just had a bye week. If you’re looking for help with your real starting lineup conundrums, read on. Teddy Bridgewater was knocked unconscious last week but has passed his concussion tests this week and is practicing on a limited basis.

Blake Bortles – Jaguars: Bortles started the season as an undrafted fantasy QB that every big-box website was calling a bust. Kyle Rudolph, however, should be given the benefit of the doubt, as Oakland has not had the best of, or any, success at covering tight ends this year.

Miami Dolphins: Was the second half and overtime of the Sunday night game a sign of things to come for Sam Bradford and Jordan Matthews?

Joique Bell: Bell isn’t an all-out fool’s gold player, but he isn’t a must-own player that a few websites are suggesting he is.

Is Tyler Eifert better than Rob Gronkowski? Maybe. Bottom line is I wouldn’t sell low on him, but I would buy low.

If you’re a frequent reader of this weekly column, you’ll know I like to pick against receivers that have to face elite defensive backs, especially a pair of gentlemen named Aqib Talib and Darrelle Revis. Drew Brees, meanwhile, will nearly certainly force Cousins and the Washington offense to lean on the pass given the way he has been playing for the last month or so. Anderson, despite a very solid performance against the Packers last week, is unlikely to do well in this tangle of the Peyton Manning’s teams.

Ronnie Hillman – Broncos: Hillman is locked into the dreaded “hot-hand” approach with C.J. Anderson for the Broncos, which dramatically reduces his fantasy value. These guys shouldn’t be owned, let alone started, but I bet one of them actually does something here. The Jets are a banged up team. Winston is a potential DFS value play, particularly if Vincent Jackson and Austin Seferian-Jenkins are able to return. Luckily, the other team in the Bay area picked him up and, along with an up and coming quarterback in Derek Carr, Crabtree looks like he turned back the clock. Hood is available in over 65 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues and with Utah having 4 games this week you might want to add him. Michael came to Dallas with promise of challenging for a starting role. Latavius Murray, however, is a concern. Working his way out of JerryWorld’s dungeon in 5-yard increments, Beasley was the Cowboys most productive receiver in Week 9. Their rookie RB is not Todd Gurley but they do seem to want to see what they have there.

Charles Clay, BUF (@ NY Jets) – @ New York Jets. That could make Beasley a viable fantasy option moving forward during this stretch run. K. Williams’ role is a bit of a question mark with LeSean McCoy still atop the depth chart. Robinson is a really good WR. Oh, and they’ll probably run even more after getting a huge lead. Not to mention that Matt Forte is also banged up. Sunday’s matchup between the Ravens and Jaguars could feature a lot of offense. A wise addition for people who already own Williams.
