Weekend Box office collections: ‘Dilwale’ beats ‘Bajirao Mastani’
Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed this periodic drama which despite having severe competition from Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol starrer “Dilwale” at the box office, the mega-budget movie “Bajirao Mastani” has done pretty well business at the both single screen as well in the multiplexes.

The movie will have the actor play the role of an average man named Gaurav, who is a super-fan of Shah Rukh Khan, the actor.
The film’s collections have been good despite certain negative reviews, much better than “Bajirao Mastani“, the other release of the week. The gulf which is the golden goose for Bollywood films overthrew the Hollywood flick star wars & Bajirao Mastani by giving top priority to Dilwlae.
Eros released “Bajirao Mastani” on December 18 across 3,750 screens worldwide and expects the showcasing to further increase to meet demand in the next week. Yesterday morning I received the first award for Bajirao Mastani. “The opening day collection for “Dilwale” will be somewhere around Rs 21-22 crore.’Bajirao’ might settle for a Rs 10-12 crore opening day figure”, Girish Wankhede, of production-distribution company Entity One, told PTI.
As of now, in all “Dilwale” has earned Rs 75.18 cr whereas “BM” has collected Rs 57.02 crore.
Shah Rukh said he is very happy with the response.

Film director Karan Johar tweeted and declared Dilwale as a “blockbuster”. Salman says that “the whole connect of the mother and son has been brought to a different level altogether” with the film.
