Weekend Rock Question: What Is Lady Gaga’s Best Song?
(CNN) – You didn’t think eccentric Gaga was gone just because she did an album with Tony Bennett, did you? “Perfect Illusion” is Gaga getting to grips with songwriting again – and she sounds all the better for it”. “I started to work on an idea for a song that I really wanted to do with a girl and you’ll see why when you hear the music and what the song is about”.

In case you’re wondering, Gaga did say earlier this year that she planned on returning to the series in some capacity for the new season, but it remains unclear just what her role will be and how long she will be around.
The fact that it has Lady Gaga (who returns this season after her Hotel debut) crooning “It was a flawless illusion” in the background is a little smug to me, but I can’t deny I’m curious as ever to know what in tarnation is going on this season.
Gaga’s new album features collaborations with Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker and Mark Ronson (both of whom worked on “Perfect Illusion”) and when asked about working on the single, Gaga said she wrote lyrics for the track on a typewriter. The team was so excited about the release of their “baby” they video called each other and got emotional ahead of its premiere.
“I feel awful but I just love it so much”.
Rolling Stone gave background on the new tune: “The song hails from her as-yet untitled fifth studio album”.
