Weird, Racist Math Test Has Been Surfacing in Classrooms for 20 Years
The test itself however, dubbed “The L.A. Math Proficiency Test” by online hoax-watchdog Snopes.com, has been circulated online for years, occasionally landing other administrators and officials in hot water.

“My son, he took a picture of it in class and he texted it to me”.
The version of the “test” spotted at Burns was almost identical to the one distributed online, with only minor changes to differentiate it.
“Leroy has 2 ounces of cocaine. If he sells an eight ball to Antonio for $320 and 2 grams to Juan for $85 per gram, what is the street value of the rest of his hold?”
According to the station, the 10-question math quiz was given to eighth-grade students in a language arts class at Burns Middle School. “If the price is $85 per trick, how many tricks per day must each ho turn to support Dwayne’s $800 per day crack habit?”
Hall said the quiz was passed out by her son’s language arts teacher on Friday.
Peyton, one of the students who was given the math test, said she laughed at it. There are 20 girls in the gang.
Besides being politically incorrect and probably about as full-on racist as a 1939 Nazi, can you believe they said “clip” instead of magazine.
“I’m shocked. I don’t think it’s appropriate at all”, parent Kellie Lee told WALA-TV. The teacher actually required students to complete it and turn it in. Despite school so close to ending, at least one set of parents went to the school on the final day to demand answers. “Tyrone knocked up four girls in the gang”, the quiz says. “What is the exact percentage of girls Tyrone knocked up?” another inquired.
While many on social media thought early reports of the test might have been a teen playing a prank, Mobile County Public School officials have confirmed to Lagniappe that the “exercise was given out in class” by a Burns Middle School teacher last week.

The teacher, Joanna Bolster, was slated to retire this year and only had one more day left of the school year before her suspension.
