Wendy’s says hackers were able to steal customer’s credit and debit card information at 1,025 restaurants, including 18 in Kentucky. A message on the website states: “The restaurants listed on this site are the potentially affected locations”.

The hamburger chain said hackers were able to obtain card numbers, names, expiration dates and codes on the card, beginning in late fall. There is also evidence that some of the stolen data has been used to make fraudulent purchases.
There are more than 5,700 Wendy’s restaurants in the U.S.
SIOUX CITY | Customers to a Wendy’s restaurant in Sioux City might have been susceptible to a hack of their payment card information.

Wendy’s has made available a database list to help customers identify whether their cards may have been affected by the breach.
“We are committed to protecting our customers and keeping them informed”.
“We apologize to anyone who has been inconvenienced as a result of these highly sophisticated, criminal cyber attacks”, the company said in the news release. “We will continue to work diligently with our investigative team to apply what we have learned from these incidents and further strengthen our data security measures”.
The company had already announced it discovered a hack in February. In June, it said the number of stores hit was considerably greater and that the hacks affected cash registers at the stores.
The company continues to hold steadfast that no corporate locations have been affected – only franchised locations.

The company’s website, www.wendys.com, reported that customers of the fast food giant using credit and debit cards between December 2, 2015 and June 9 of this year may have had their cards accessed.
